Hi, Jesse,

Thanks for the great photos of of St. Mary's Lake and Hidden Falls - from one of the 2 lovely lady hikers who didn't want to jump across the flooded stream that day near Grinnell Lake. We knew you would love Hidden Falls when you got up to it. And your description of it was perfect. We, on the other hand, got on the wrong path on our way back - the horse trail - so we got muddied up after all, but found our way to the docks at Josephine Lake where we had a lovely respite sitting on the end of the dock surrounded by mountains.

On our last day, at Two Medicine Lake, rain started about 5 miles away from the car, so we pranced through similiarly overflowed streams anyway. Our boots, shoes and clothes were well christened, but we found a huge crackling fire in the camp store next to the car, surrounded by friendly sopping fellow hikers and wonderfully interesting store staff.

Congrats on the NYT article. It was inspiring, even to us retirees.

Good luck on the rest of your adventures, especially Argentina. You'll love it.
      Bon Voyage. Patty

Beautiful place! Great Blog!

PS How the heck do you have the time to do all this hiking and photo taking plus all the writing, posting, and linking, too? I don't know...sounds like a full time job to me!

By the by, are you hiring?

The flooded trail to Grinnel Lake looks a lot like Canterbury, NH looked after getting 10 inches of rain in 48 hours — YOWZA! Glad that you persevered and made it to the lake. Next time you hike through snow melt, be sure to bring your swimmies! PS Better pack a sweater for poor ol' naked Harold, too.
